You should still follow the normal Merc Camp capturing rules like the Siege camps on Haunted Mines. Pretty easy, huh? Well, you want your vikings to be in a good shape afterwards, so you should use Positioning to have Olaf tanking the damage while Baelog hits all 4 and Erik focuses 1 at a time, when Olaf gets low wait for his passive to regenerate him to above 80% HP and have him tanking again. Taking Merc camps is pretty straightforward: Go into the Merc Camp, attack it, win. Taking Mercenary Camps If you want to capture a Merc Camp, you should send at least 2 Vikings (or 1 Viking with 2 Viking Bribery stacks) to ensure you will take it, and having Olaf as one of them is recommended.
Your Vikings should push as if they were Mercenary Camps, so you should send them when you're sure the enemy will not try to gank you so your enemy will either lose a gate/fort/keep, or you win an objective/boss/teamfight. Baelog performs the best as he has Splash damage, making him the fastest viking in dispatching minion waves. Pushing: A Pushing Viking should use AAs and Spin to Win! to clear enemy minion waves and use friendly waves as cover when attacking enemy towers. A viking should soak when he has nothing better to do, when an objective is up and your team can capture it, or alternatively poke the enemy team and buy time, in which case you can push if you're careful. Erik is the best viking for this, as he can run away the fastest and collect Regen Globes safely. Soaking: A Soaking Viking should be near a lane, and collect Regeneration Globes. Common tasks are: Soaking, Pushing, Taking Mercenary Camps, Participating in Objectives, Participating in Teamfights, Scouting and Ganking. However, Shift-Queuing is very hard to master and can lead to a disaster if combined with improper map awareness, so use it very carefully.Ģ) Assigning Tasks: A very simple concept, you want every viking to do a specific task at every given moment. Shift Queuing is simple: hold Shift and issue commands, however to utilize it well you want to make your opponent think you are focusing on a Viking you are not focusing on, stopping in the healing fountain before moving a Viking and having 1 Viking soaking 2 lanes. A successful Boss Steal means you have decent map awareness. To practice this, try to predict where your enemies will be and ambush them in QM. Minimap Awareness: this is a very useful skill overall and is in the Vikings core gameplay. AI and try to collect every Regeneration Globe up until level 10 without dying, you want every Viking to do something at every given moment. Simply press a number between 1 and 3 twice or press Space to lock into your Viking.
